Tips to Update Your Records Quickly

The ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Status field indicates seven different record statuses and one in particular, Update Available, alerts you if an action needs to be taken by you, which often include business opportunities.

How to Access

Quickly access a list of all records that have an update available and need your review by using the ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Updates list view or ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Firm and Rep Updates dashboard.

We recommend that you set aside a few minutes on your calendar every Monday morning to review and process these updates. You can also schedule the dashboard to email you Monday morning so all you have to do is click into the Salesforce email to get the list of records that need your attention.

Step-by-Step Guide

• Locate the ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Status field and click the Update Available link, indicating an update is available and requires your manual review.

• Select the radio button next to the data you would like to save on the record.

  

  Note: In this case the last name is misspelled within Salesforce and we would like to change it to the proper spelling ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services has provided.

• To accept the change click Save. The update will automatically populate in Salesforce.

• To narrow down your view to only records that need your attention, use the Hide Identical Values checkbox in the upper right of the page.

• Of course, you can always choose to reject the proposed update by clicking on the radio button on the right in the Salesforce column.

As you get more comfortable with this process you can mass accept or reject pending updates. To do so, go to the Account, Contact, or Lead tab and choose the ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Updates list view. From here, use the checkboxes on the left to select records in conjunction with the Accept and Reject buttons near the top of the page.
