MarketLink for Salesforce Contact Movement Enhancements

We have introduced additional enhancements to MarketLink for Salesforce at the request of clients asking for the application to automatically move more Salesforce Contacts by creating new Accounts when needed, as described below. This eliminates the need for the CRM Administrator to create Salesforce Accounts in certain circumstances.

Branch Hierarchy (Parent Account - Branch Account - Contact)

Rep Moves From Branch to Branch at Same Firm

When a synchronization job runs and a rep remains with the same firm (Rep CRD-Firm CRD combination does not change) but the rep changes branch locations (Rep CRD-Branch ID combination changes) AND an Account with the rep's new Branch ID does not already exist in Salesforce, MarketLink for Salesforce will automatically create an Account with the new Branch ID and the Contact will be moved to be associated with the new Account with the new Branch ID. If a Parent Account with the rep's Firm CRD does not already exist in Salesforce, a new Parent Account will also be created.

Rep Moves to a Different Firm

When a synchronization job runs and a rep moves to a different firm (Firm CRD-Rep CRD combination changes) AND an Account with the rep's new Branch ID does not already exist in Salesforce, the new Account is created ONLY if the new firm meets the pre-defined New Firms and New Reps Audience Criteria. If the firm's Parent Account does not already exist in Salesforce, that Account will be created as well and the new Branch will be linked to it. If the rep's new firm does not meet the pre-defined Audience Criteria, the rep's Contact will remain with the Account with which it is currently associated and the ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Status will be Inactive.

Rep Moves to a Different Firm

When a synchronization job runs and a rep moves to a different firm (Firm CRD-Rep CRD combination changes) AND an Account with the rep's new Firm CRD does not already exist in Salesforce, the new Account is created ONLY if the new firm meets the pre-defined New Firms and New Reps Audience Criteria. If the rep's new firm does not meet the pre-defined Audience Criteria, the rep's Contact will remain with the Account with which it is currently associated and the ISS - Institutional Shareholder Services Status will be Inactive.

 

New Reporting to Keep You Informed of the Above Actions

To keep you informed of the actions described above, your weekly MarketLink Update notification email will now include a Created Records section providing the number of Accounts created.

ACTION ITEM: In order for the above functionality to work, you must have New Records Audience Criteria for Firms set up and it must match the firm filtering in your New Records Audience Criteria for Reps. If you do not already have Audience Criteria for Firms, contact us so we can work with you to ensure your firm filtering is the same for both Firms and Reps Audience Criteria.
