“N” refers to a new record. A new record in the BD Rep or RIA Rep dataset refers to a new Rep/Firm combination record. A new record in the BD Firm or RIA Firm dataset refers to a newly registered Firm.
“D” refers to a deleted record. A deleted record in the BD Rep or RIA Rep dataset means the rep left that firm. They may also show up as an “N” in the same call if they newly joined a firm in that dataset in the same period. Please note, the BD Rep dataset only allows for single-firm association, so you can treat an “N” and “D” in the same call as a move. The RIA Rep dataset allows for multiple firm associations for a rep, so each “N” and “D” should be treated as a rep joining or leaving that specific firm in that record. A delete record in the BD Firm or RIA Firm dataset refers to a firm that de-registered.
“C” refers to a change record. Change records are records that had a field change since the ByDate requested. We provide back the entire record for you to process. Please note that this could be as simple as a phone number, email, or title change. Clients should consider processing all “C” records to identify if a field changed that they are bringing in.
Any record that does not appear in the call request for a specific delta date means that record had no field changes during that period.
